I just signed this petition to stop the divisive “Federal Marriage Amendment.”

It’s an election year, and Republicans are in deep trouble. Instead of addressing the things Americans really care about, they’re trying to change the subject and use wedge issues in hopes of distracting from their failures and dividing Americans to win elections.

This time, LGBT families are the pawns in their political game. And this time, the American Constitution is their political playing field. They want to amend the Constitution to deprive gay people of equal rights under the law.

With your help, we can a powerful message to Republicans that legislating discrimination defames good people. Please join me by signing
this petition:

Second Day in OC

Bryan came back at like 3am from his party. He’d gotten high but he seemed to be fine by then. None of us could really sleep, so we busted out Super Smash Brothers Melee and played it. I sucked; I’ve never played that game before in my life.

So basically none of us were ready to get up, even though we did of course. We went down to the beach and met Alana, Lilia, Mary, and Becca down there. I got into the water, realized it was about 5 degrees, and ran out. The good news is that while I had my feet in it, they were so numb I couldn’t feel my mangled toes.

Then we took another walk down the boardwalk. That hurt. Also I had forgotten my money (again) so I couldn’t buy anything. Everyone else had eaten earlier, but not me, so I was hungry too. Then we ended up on fucking Somerset Street again and it was time to take the bus back up to 137th. I started bitching again to Andrew and Bryan and Rob, who I was with, but to no avail. Their logic was that if there’s no bus at a bus stop, we should walk to the next one. I was all for stopping at a popular one and waiting for someone to pull the cord on the bus to stop it there. But noo, we walked to 42nd Street before we finally got on a bus. When we got off at 137th, Andrew and Bryan went up to our condo while Rob, who I haven’t really talked to that much since freshman year and I actually thought he didn’t like me anymore, offered to take me out to lunch. His treat. So we went up to a subs place and I got wings. Then he actually wanted to talk about what was up with me. So I told him all about Griggs, and about Schweffy. It was really the first time I’ve unloaded my feelings on a guy. It was certainly a good feeling. He said it sounded like I cared too much about Schweffy despite all the crap she puts me through (Andrew said I was obsessed with her today and yesterday because I was texting her a lot). Schweffy’s been trying to tell me what I can and can’t do on beach week. Or as Rob put it, she’s been yelling at me for neglecting my duties to her…as a single guy. I guess I have feelings for Schweffy…although they’re not sexual, and I definitely don’t want to get back in a relationship with her. But this was the first time where I questioned my friendship with her. Rob’s a great friend.

Following this deliciousness we went back to the condo where I promptly took a nap. Rob and Andrew were going bowling with Ashley, and I told them I didn’t want to go. Firstly, I’m not too fond of bowling. But I also knew that both were trying to get with her. I was not about to be there with two guys fighting over a girl. So I went to sleep.

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. It was Brian Baudoin. He was on 136th Street and was wondering where I was. Well I’m on 137th Brian, come on up. So him and Scott came up and we chilled for a couple hours (we were alone in the condo). It’s probably the last time I’m going to see either of them. We reminisced about school and mock trial. It was pretty much a good time. Presently they left and I went back to bed.

Sometime after midnight, Andrew and Rob came back pissed. Apparently they had made plans to go bowling with Ashley, then left on a bus. Which they left because it was full of drunks. So they walked to the bowling alley, which was packed, so they left and called Ashley to find out where she was.

First Day in OC

So today we got to Ocean City. I was really tired from the trip and was pretty much ready to crash at the condo. But we went down the boardwalk. It was Andrew, me, Bryan and Ed who came up and Rob left later. When we got there, we all walked along the beach the entire way from 137th Street to 26th Street where the boardwalk starts. We got free bus ride bracelets (which were pink and therefore ugly on me) there. We next went to a knife store on the boardwalk where Ed wanted a knife but, not being 18, couldn’t buy it. He asked Bryan to but he said no. Ed went bezerk. He flipped out on Bryan and stormed away in a huff to hang out with some people. Bryan left soon afterwards to go to a party with David, leaving just me and Andrew. We walked all the way down the boardwalk, past 1st Street to this stupid arcade where Andrew decided to play some games. Rob showed up there and we decided to take the bus back up from Somerset Street to our condo on 137th. It was a very long bus ride. Then Andrew wants to go back down the boardwalk to meet a couple of his friends, Ashley and Sammy. Rather than walk along the beach all the way to the boardwalk like we had earlier, we took the bus back. Rob brought this traveling guitar and Andrew brought his harmonica and Rob brought his precious straw hat as well. Strangely enough nobody put any money in it on the bus, although Andrew insisted he almost “picked up” two girls on the merit that they requested “Low” on the harmonica and they said he did a good job playing it. Then we did some more useless walking with Andrew’s friends down the boardwalk until we decided we were hungry and went to Subway on 17th Street. I totally feel like the only person I really know here is Andrew, and he’s so busy with all his other friends I’m usually just walking along with him most of the time doing nothing. Today was filled with A LOT of useless walking.

So we were at Subway and basically I’m the useless guy at the table, since apparently Rob used to be good friends with Ashley and seems to like her. They exchanged numbers, and I pretty much just sat there and talked to Sammy about tattoos. Apparently she’s getting a tattoo tomorrow (even though you have to keep it out of direct sunlight for 2 weeks). Cool.

Then Andrew, Rob and I had to make it back to 137th but we soon learned how hard it is to take a bus uptown late at night (this was actually about 12:30.am). Al the buses were full, and nobody stopped for us. As a result, we walked to 71st Street, which tore up my toes. Right, so now I have blisters on my toes which are now torn up. I can only imagine how much of a whiny bitch I was.

So basically today sucked. I don’t feel like I have that many friends down here. I wish I were hanging out with Schweffy. Plus my toe is swelling…

Ed never came back. He’s sleeping with Lisa.

Lessons

One of my closest friendships came to a screeching halt today. I definitely came away with a lot of good stuff, though.

  1. The full truth is ALWAYS best, even if you think it will hurt someone
  2. Dudes and chicks can’t get TOO close as friends   :(
  3. True friends stay with you no matter what happens

Awwa. Now all we need is some corny songs and dancing and it turns into a fun-filled episode of Barney and Friends.

I’m sad at the loss of my friend. But the loss was not for nothing. And I rediscovered my close friends, who I’ve sadly been neglecting for … too long. Come to find out they’re still there for me. And I feel bad for not being there for them.

Well all this will change. From now on I will never neglect friends. And I will never lie.

The end.

Beach week

Surprise! Schweffy’s going to beach week! And I’m not!!

Now I feel like I really should go. Otherwise it’s just going to be another fun experience she gets in on that I miss.

I will not be deprived of this opportunity! I just have to find someone to stay with. All through work this evening I was texting everyone I know who’s going to see if they have any space. Luckily, Andrew Lewis said if my mom calls his mom and says I can go, it’s cool if I go! Now all I need is my mom’s permission.

So I should probably start cleaning my room soon, seeing as how I’m moving out in a matter of weeks. Days, I guess you could say. There’s only 14 days until my birthday. The day after that, I’m sleeping at my dad’s for the rest of the summer.

Well actually I’m going to have to wait until I can get my car. But I can start that process once I turn 18. In fourteen days. Good times. Well they will be. Once I get that goddamn car.
