1. Funny the Way it Is. This is a pretty safe bet; not only is Dave very likely to play this song but this has been his opener eleven times so far this summer tour. In addition, this has been the most frequently played song (29) all summer.

2. Shake Me Like a Monkey. Dave’s promoting his new album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. This is my favorite song off said album. If he doesn’t play it I will be sad, but the song has been played at 23 out of 30 concerts so far.

3. Lying in the Hands of God. Another song from the new album that I like.

4. Why I Am. I don’t particularly like this song, but it is off the new album and it seems to be wildly popular. He has only neglected this song at 3 concerts all summer.

5. Squirm. A good song from the new album that he’s likely to play.

6. The Dreaming Tree. I really hope he plays this one, it’s one of my favorites. Too bad we won’t have LeRoi to do an awesome flute solo at the end but I’m sure Jeff Coffin will throw in something. This song has been played eight times over the course of the summer tour.

7. Crush. One of my favorite more mellow DMB songs. The video was featured on my home page for a couple months. I thought it would be a more rare song for them to play but it has gotten done 14 times this summer.

8. Gravedigger. Another awesome mellow-type song that has gotten 5 plays this summer.

9. Tripping Billies. We can balance out all this mellow with the crazy upbeat Tripping Billies. It’s only been played three times so far this summer but one can always hope.

10. Seven. This song, the next one, and the one after are songs I don’t mind, but they are played a lot at concerts so there’s a good chance they’ll come around again. I’d REALLY enjoy if DMB played Spoon, but they lack Alanis Morissette and it hasn’t been played all summer. I wish they’d play American Baby, but that song literally hasn’t been performed in years.

13. You Might Die Trying. Another awesome song that I only recently discovered. It’s gotten 14 plays this summer and has opened the set twice.

14. The Stone. With 5 plays this summer, there is actually a chance that this amazing song will get played.

15. Two Step. This and Grey Street have been DMB’s most popular closers over the summer. I love both songs, but I think I’d prefer to see Two Step.

ENCORE

1. Rye Whiskey. Dave’s obsession with Pete Seeger is shown when he plays Rye Whiskey as a solo 14 times during the summer. I would really like to see this.

2. All Along the Watchtower. By far the most popular finale, there’s no finish I’d rather see than an insane Dave Matthews rendition of this Bob Dylan song.

You can’t help but feel a little let-down, but you actually have a lot to look forward to.

This was really only half true. I didn’t actually feel let down. I had finally gotten an Ipod! However, I did still have a lot to look forward to, as the second Christmas party, this time with my dad’s girlfriend instead of my mom, took place. I got more stuff:

- Steelers hat (yes another one, this one not reversible but thicker)
- Jacket (was on my Christmas list!)
- A Guitar Hero shirt

I had to do some last minute shopping at the mall the day before, but I was able to pick up Twilight for my sister and a calendar whiteboard for my mom. My dad enjoyed his pipe matches, collectible nutcracker and Swiss Army knife and wallet. I gave my sister the book and a souvenir bear I picked up in New York City.

So tonight I saw Seven Pounds with Megan. That was an extraordinarily confusing movie. I liked how I couldn’t figure out what was going on though; I hate predictable movies. During the previews, two other movies captured my attention: Know1ng and The International. I’m definitely hoping to see these soon!

So today I beat Guitar Hero 3 on medium. As you know if you play GH3, to beat a level you have to beat Lou in a guitar battle with “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by the Charlie Daniels Band. Well apparently Charlie Daniels is not pleased. He’s really Christian now and doesn’t approve of the depiction of the devil and “all manner of weird things popping up on the stage.”

Don’t like the Devil, eh, Charlie? WHY’D YOU WRITE A SONG ABOUT HIM??

In other news, I bought a shirt off the Internet today. Actually not from ae.com either. It’s from some unheard of place called uneetee, but hey at least the shirts are original! Now I can live without fear of wearing the same shirt as five other guys in the same room. With all the energy saved not worrying, I can finally solve global warming in my spare time.

To demonstrate how cool I am, I created this chart which shows normal, boring parties vs. my party.

All it really means to me is that I can do everything I’ve been doing for the past 5 years legally. Woo Hoo.  A few days ago I was turned out of a cigar shop. Now I can return and spit upon the man. I will spit on him, using my spit. It’ll be some good spit too. I’ll drink lots of lemonade so that gross lemony-stringy stuff stays in my throat and I’ll spit that at him.

In other news, I no longer live with my mother. I took advantage of the fact that the portion of the custody agreement pertaining to me is null and void to promptly move into my dad’s house. Also this week: I shall apply for a loan. Hopefully I can get a car very soonly!

I had three things I’ve wanted so badly for a long time:

1. Internet access: unlimited, unrestricted.
2. A laptop, with Internet access and a webcam.
3. A car.

Well today I moved into my dad’s house, where there is, in fact, Internet access, both unlimited AND unrestricted. WOW. Don’t even tell me that you’ve had this since you were like six years old. Just shut up and stop raining on my parade. kthxbai

As for number 2, my laptop, that was a graduation present from my dad.  :)     Which I got today. And now I might finally be able to get my car!!   :D

O also one last thing. I made my first lol today… it’s pretty awesome I know, I know:

We went to my dad’s house for lunch, where he amazed us as always with his culinary expertise. He made soup. I swear, once I finish my business degree I’m going to try to go to Lincoln Tech or AACC and study hotel and restaurant management … and a prerequisite is Baking and Pastry! I’m sorry but I like the idea of knowing how to prepare sweet dishes. I get orgasmic every time I make burgers.

After lunch we talked about stuff, like how I was either going to Towson or getting a car. It’s one or the other apparently. I think that’s bullshit. But that’s the way it goes. I don’t know what I’m going to decide. I’m giving AACC some real thought again.

In any case I went jogging afterward. I’m really proud of myself, I went 20 minutes, most of the time I wasn’t even tired. But ugh that still means I’m out of shape, and I really need to run more. I hope to start running in mornings soon.

Yesterday i spent a couple hours lookin at the directions. i was gettin mad at those #@*^& directions, it was sayin about how solving one side was “intuitive.” well obviously it’s not intuitive if i can’t do it!

well i can now. i challenged myself yesterday to solve every colour (separately) and i did so, averaging about 5 minutes per side. my longest was 8 minutes (i got confused) and my shortest took 53 seconds.

I want an iPod classic!

i’d like to listen to music while traveling, and walking, and just basically having that anywhere-capability.

grr my friend bryan has one and he let me mess with it yesterday. its so awesome! its light and you can’t go wrong with white lol.

unluckily i have bills as well. car, insurance, phone plan. well thats life.

I find it absolutely amazing. I put it off and put it off, my mind drawing blanks every time i tried to think of something.

then one night i got no angry with myself i took an idea, a rather emotional idea, but an idea nonetheless, and ran with it.

it was fun ranting in the form of a college essay. but once i got it all out and calmed down, i realized that it just needed minor touch ups and it would be perfectly fine! it even answers the prompt!

i am SO happy right now! this was my biggest hurdle in the college application process and now it’s done. i’m flying right now, in my mind. because its finished. all done.
